Founded in 1976, Hanwha Galleria specializes in retail services with a strong focus on department stores. Along with Galleria Luxury Hall, South Korea’s first and premier department store, we provide differentiated customer experiences through a network of department stores in various locations. We also operate other retail businesses, including global brand direct sourcing, retail sales of exclusive brands, and food and beverage (F&B) operations. 

 

The five branches located in Seoul as well as the Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Gyeongnam provinces serve as leading department stores in their respective regions, focused on delivering new experiences to our customers with brands that keep pace with fashion trends and dining content that meets their needs. 

 

Galleria Luxury Hall in Seoul is South Korea’s preeminent department store, featuring a collection of the world’s leading luxury brands. In 2021, it achieved record-breaking performance with annual sales surpassing KRW 1 trillion and one of the highest sales per unit area in the world. Galleria Gwanggyo, with its iconic architectural design and nature-inspired, multifunctional cultural and shopping spaces, has become a beloved landmark among customers. Located in the metropolitan city of Daejeon, Galleria Timeworld specializes in luxury fashion brands from around the world and offers the ultimate in customer convenience solidifying its reputation as the premier luxury shopping destination in the region. We also operate Centercity, an arts and cultural center in central South Korea, and Galleria Jinju, a premier department store in the western region of South Gyeongsang Province. 

 

Our fashion business mainly focuses on retailing exclusive brands and stores. We source directly from global luxury fashion houses, such as Italy’s Stefano Ricci and luxury daily wear brand James Perse. Our collection of select premium brands and our ability to source the most exclusive fashion items are unmatched in the markets we operate in, a competitive advantage that enables us to keep expanding our footprint. We also operate high-end fashion boutiques including G. STREET 494 HOMME, one of the world’s finest names in menswear.

Our food and beverage business continues to grow, with the Gourmet 494 brand serving as a central pillar of that expansion. Gourmet 494 remains a customer favorite thanks to its premium quality, offering a variety of private brand products developed and launched using ingredients carefully selected by Galleria. In 2023, we successfully introduced the popular U.S. burger chain Five Guys to South Korea and currently operate eight locations, including branches in the Seoul neighborhoods of Gangnam and Yeouido. In May 2025, we launched Benson, a premium ice cream brand, with five stores now open across key areas of the Seoul metropolitan region, including Apgujeong and Seoul Station. We plan to continue expanding Benson’s retail and distribution channels to reach a broader customer base.
